Legacy Point Elementary ! 2/4/2022 Week 5:
My experience at Legacy Point was very surprising and really showed me just how appreciative these teachers are when shown how much we as a community care.
Cheryl was my point of contact that week and she led me to the break room where the principal and several teachers were waiting for me, which was not expected. They were all thanking me and asking to have pictures taken with them. I didn’t really know how to react because it is supposed to be me thanking them, so we all just kind of stood there thanking each other. ‘Thank you so much!’ ‘No, really Thank you!’
The principal spoke about how much it meant to all of them what we were doing, and that got several of us a little emotional. While it felt somewhat awkward to be thanked for something I am literally doing to show our thanks, it was also pretty powerful. It is nice that the word is getting out and what I find most rewarding is that I have heard of other people following suit and doing very similar things such as offering a school staff lunch from Panera one day, or in another case providing donuts to their kids school.
